Renee Johnson

Renee R. Johnson is a Licensed Massage Therapist with nearly 18 years of professional experience and a Certified Massage and Bodywork Educator (CMBE). She holds additional certifications in Hospital-Based Massage Therapy, Pediatric Massage Therapy, Integrative Reflexology, and Equine Myomanipulative Therapy.

As the Senior Instructor of the Massage Therapy Program at Chattanooga State Community College, Renee has dedicated over a decade to educating the next generation of massage professionals. Entering her 13th year of teaching, she has guided the program through multiple curriculum evolutions, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards while maintaining high educational quality.

Renee’s specialties span a broad range of modalities, including medical massage, cupping, hot stone therapy, gentle therapies, stretching, prenatal massage, reflexology, specialized regional bodywork, and muscle testing. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes an integrative, hands-on approach, fostering a strong connection between intellectual understanding and practical application.

In addition to her teaching role, Renee serves as an Advisor for the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS), where she was honored as Advisor of the Year in 2023. She has also mentored students through TN Achieves for 12 years and has coached numerous SkillsUSA competitors to state and national recognition, including seven state gold medalists.
